As we all know, celebrities love to give their unsolicited opinions about everything to the world. So, when Twitter was invented, lots of Hollywood stars made sure to optimize those measly 140 characters and let everyone know what was exactly on their minds, for better or worse. Sure, celebrity tweets are fun and give fans a glimpse into the lives of famous people, but celebs often find themselves in hot water for offensive tweets and Twitter controversies.
When it comes to the celebrities on this list, they probably should have kept their mouths shut. One wrong Tweet can lead to disaster. Just ask CeeLo Green! Everything from losing money, getting fired, facing a public relations nightmare, and plain old embarrassment have occurred just because of one regrettable Tweet.
In the end however, we can all learn a lesson from these funny celebrity tweets that backfired. Always think twice before you tweet, especially if you're Bill Cosby!

Weiner eventually resigned after 'fessing up to the tweet, but his career never got back on track.
Representative Who Opposes Obamacare Posts Poll of People Approving of Obamacare
Staunch Obamacare hater Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., thought she'd fire up her constituents by asking via a Twitter poll them what they thought about repealing the health care law. Unfortunately for her, 84 percent of people who voted - or about 6,700 people - didn't want congress to repeal it. However, as CNBC pointed out, it's possible her poll was slightly influenced by Democrats. Obama White House Press Secretary Eric Schultz retweeted the poll to his more than 23,000 Twitter followers.
Bill Cosby's "Meme Me" Tweet
What was he thinking?! Amidst all the accusations of sexual assault,, Cosby tweeted a photo of himself asking people to "meme" him. As if people didn't already hate him...

Model Dani Mathers's Body Shaming Snaps
In July 2016, Los Angeles-based model and former Playboy Playmate of the Year Dani Mathers posted snaps from an LA Fitness location body shaming a fellow gym member. In the snaps, Mathers holds her hand over her face in mock laughter while a nude woman stands in the background. Text on one of the snaps reads "If I can't unsee this then neither can you."
The snaps immediately went viral, and caused enormous backlash. Mathers faced serious vitriol on Twitter; she is, after all, a model body shaming a nude woman in a locker room for millions to see. LA Fitness turned the photos over to the police, and banned Mathers from ever setting foot in any of its locations again. Mathers was also indefinitely suspended from her job on The Heidi and Frank Show, a radio program.
Mathers offered a hasty, but totally insufficient, apology, essentially saying "I love the female form. I'm sorry. That was supposed to be private. Body shaming is wrong. But only when you get caught. My bad."
Here it is in full: "I just wanted to acknowledge a photo that I accidentally posted on Snapchat earlier today and let you guys know that that was absolutely wrong, and not what I meant to do. I have chosen to do what I do for a living because I love the female body and I know that body shaming is wrong and that's not what I'm about, that's not the type of person that I am. That photo was taken to be a personal conversation with a girlfriend, and because I am new to Snapchat, I didn't realize that I had posted it and that was a huge mistake."
Update: Mathers is officially being charged by prosecutors for the incident.
